My approach as your doula

My goal as your doula is to help you feel safe, heard, informed and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood.

I offer emotional, physical and practical support, tailored to you, your needs and your partner. Whether you are looking for reassurance during pregnancy, support preparing for birth, continuous support throughout labour, or a calm and caring presence in the postpartum period, I am here to walk alongside you.

I am not a medically trained professional, and I do not provide medical advice or replace your midwife or doctor. Instead, I can help you understand your options, explore your preferences, ask questions and prepare for different possibilities, so that you can feel confident and informed when making decisions about your care.

I believe there is no single “right” way to give birth. I will never tell you how you should birth or what choices you should make. My role is to listen to what matters to you, respect your choices and provide unbiased, non-judgemental support — whether your birth unfolds according to plan or takes an entirely unexpected direction.

Why continuous support matters

There is growing evidence behind the value of continuous support during labour. Research has found that people who receive continuous, one-to-one support are more likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth and less likely to experience a caesarean or instrumental birth. Continuous support has also been associated with shorter labours, less use of pain medication and more positive experiences of birth.

To birth partners

You play a hugely important role — and having a doula does not replace you. In fact, a doula can help you feel more confident and supported too.

Birth can be an emotional and intense experience for partners as well. When the person you love is in labour, it can be difficult to stay calm, remember all the techniques you discussed beforehand, or know what to do in the moment. It can also feel intimidating to ask questions, speak up or navigate conversations with healthcare professionals.

As your doula, I can support both of you. I can remind you of comfort measures, suggest positions and techniques, and give you reassurance when you need it — while you remain fully present and connected with your birthing partner . I can also help create space for you to rest, take a breath or simply process what is happening.

My role is not to take your place, but to give you the support and confidence to be the partner you want to be.

My services

Birth preparation · in-person or online

This is for you whether you are planning a home or hospital birth, whether you are preparing for a vaginal birth or a C-section. You will receive sessions tailored to you and your partner's needs, where we will explore:

  • The physiology of birth — key hormones and your baby's progression through the pelvis

  • How your mind impacts your body and why this matters during birth

  • The importance of a birth and postpartum plan

  • The role of your partner and how they can support you throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond

  • Guidance through the Danish maternity system

  • Ways to cope with pain, including breathing techniques

  • Vaginal seeding, particularly relevant in the case of a planned C-section

  • Practical techniques such as rebozo, acupressure points and labouring positions that you and your partner can use during pregnancy and birth

  • How to navigate the unexpected when birth doesn't go according to plan

  • The time after birth — cord clamping, birthing the placenta, and care for both mother and baby

Natural induction · in-person or online

If you are approaching or have reached your due date and would like to gently encourage your body towards labour, I offer natural induction support using rebozo and acupressure techniques as well as energy treatment.

Note : only the energy part can be done online

Rebozo can be used to encourage relaxation, release tension and help you connect with your body, while specific acupressure points may be used to support the body's natural preparation for labour.

Natural induction techniques cannot guarantee that labour will start, and they are not a replacement for medically recommended induction when this is needed. My aim is to create a calm, nurturing space where you can relax, feel grounded and support your body's own process as you approach birth.

If you wish, we can also discuss the various medical induction methods so you are able to make an informed decision, should your medical team recommend any of those.

Postpartum support · in-person or online

The early days after meeting your baby can be a roller coaster — physically and emotionally. It’s not only your baby who is born, but also you as a mother.

I want to help you find your footing during those vulnerable early days. No two postpartum visits look the same, as every mother has different needs. We will discuss what you need on the day, but here are some of the ways I can support you:

  • Body massage (compatible with breastfeeding)

  • Acupressure (compatible with breastfeeding)

  • Birth debrief, where we can look at your journal and talk through the events of your birth

  • Breastfeeding guidance

  • Baby sleep guidance

  • Meal preparation

  • Looking after your baby while you shower, rest, read or cuddle with your partner

  • Putting your baby down for a nap, if sleep feels overwhelming

Sometimes postpartum can feel so overwhelming that it’s difficult to even know what we need in the moment. If that’s the case, we’ll have a quick chat at the start of our session, and I can suggest what might support you most that day.

Presence at birth

I would love to support you throughout your journey and be there with you for your birth.

If this is something you are interested in, we will start by discussing your needs, expectations and hopes for your birth, as well as those of your partner. Together, we will create a personalised package that can include pregnancy preparation, birth support and/or postpartum sessions, depending on what feels right for you.

To support you as confidently and effectively as possible during labour, I ask that we have at least one session together during pregnancy, ideally with your birth partner too. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, explore your preferences and prepare for the birth together.

When you book me as your birth doula, I am on call from 37 to 42 weeks of pregnancy. During this time, I am available to join you when labour begins and provide continuous support throughout your birth. If your baby decides to arrive outside of this window, I will always do my best to be there for you.
